Craig Kennedy, AIA, LEED Accredited Professional:
Craig is from Circleville, Ohio a small town with a rich architectural and city planning history. He left Circleville to receive architectural degrees from The Ohio State University (2001) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2002). To supplement a high level architectural design education, Craig sought out work experience with general contractors, builders, and craftsman. This experience gave him the tools to express and apply his creativity.
Prior to joining Bootstrap, as a partner, in 2014, Craig worked for two award winning architectural firms (The Housing Studio in Charlotte, NC and EOA Architects in Nashville, TN) where he acted as a project architect on multi-family residential, townhouse, office, church, master planning, and educational projects in Nashville and around the southeast. Experience at these two offices gave Craig an in depth and well rounded perspective that has allowed him to confidently make decisions in many arenas.
In his collaborative partnership with Kim and Tim, Craig bridges the gap between the edges of design and the truth of construction.
As a licensed architect and member the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Craig is active in Nashville and can be found lending his expertise as an advisory board member of Cane Ridge High School Academy of Architecture and Construction, the Nashville Habitat For Humanity Unity Build, board of trustee member and chair of the administrative council at East End United Methodist Church in East Nashville. He also serves as a Pencil Foundation classroom mentor for students interested in architecture and construction and is an alumnus of the Nashville Emerging Leaders (class of 2012). He is passionate about design, art, and ‘making’, and continually searches for inspiration in historical and modern works as well as found or recycled objects.
Outside of his professional life, Craig shares life’s adventures with his wife Kim and two daughters, Maeve and Brynn.
